Description: In the world of film sound, few hold the position of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Circa 1954, MGM Chief Sound Engineer Stanley Church produced -- for in-house use, and in very limited quantity -- the obscurely famous MGM/Church "CineMike." Based around the M7 diaphragm, which MGM obtained from Germany, the design utilized a 6072 vacuum tube and an unusual high-voltage citcuit, resulting an a sonic character that knowledgable engineers compare to the U47 and C-12. Originally manufactured in a quantity less than 200, few recording engineers have had the opportunity to experience an original, functional example. Telefunken USA is pleased to offer our recreation of this venerable classic. The Telefunken "CineMike" Utilizing a custom M7 capsule imported from Germany, the Telefunken CineMike is entirely handcrafted in the USA to exacting specification. While the mic retains the original style grill housing, mechanical construction and stand mounting hardware have been improved over the original design. The Telefunken "CineMike" sounds familiar, yet different. Another color for the artist in every sound engineer. Features remote 9 pattern switch, M-7 capsule. NOS 6072 vacuum tube in an adaptation of the original hi-gain CineMike circuit.
